Cadenza Kids Summary
Our Mission:
To introduce the principles of music in a joyful, dynamic and nurturing environment.
To encourage kids and their families to welcome music into their lives, both here and at home.

The more we weave music and musical play into the lives of our children, the more likely they will have a natural and joyful relationship with music throughout the rest of their lives.
Who we are:

In these classes we introduce the concepts of music through age-appropriate activities such as singing old and new songs, rocking, bouncing, movement, echoing, developing a sense of beat, body awareness, musical games, rhythmic verses, and exploring simple instruments.
Position Summary
Leading group music classes for babies, toddlers, and preschool-age children up to age 5, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, in the Cadenza Music space in St Paul, MN; as well as on-site music classes in local daycares and surrounding preschools.

We are looking for a creative collaborator who enjoys working as a team and is passionate about bringing their own ideas to the table.
Potential to lead summer camps, classes for older children (6+), drop-off classes for kids (without a parent or caregiver present), and/or group classes in specific instruments, music styles and themes.
Requirements:
Must have some teaching experience with either adults or children.
Must have a strong background and relationship with music (a degree in music education is not required for the position).
Must have a good sense of rhythm and steady beat, some basic music theory, and can sing on pitch.
Must be able to play (and sing with) at least one instrument.
Must be comfortable leading groups, socializing, and creating an environment that allows people to connect, feel safe in the space, and have fun with music-making.
Must be able to move with expression and confidently lead creative movement exercises such as free dance.
A willingness to follow our program structure, but to also bring your own ideas, creativity, songs and musical knowledge into the classes.
Weekend availability required.
Who you’ll work with: Lead teacher and founder Christina Pawlowski, Cadenza owner Dan Lehn, and program administrator Adrien Logsdon.
