SPRING SEMESTER STARTS APRIL 18TH - SIGN UP BELOW

The more we weave music and musical play into the lives of our children, the more likely they will have a natural and joyful relationship with music throughout the rest of their lives.

What is Cadenza Kids?

  • Cadenza Kids brings you a series of family music classes for babies, toddlers, and preschool-age children accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

  • In these classes we will introduce the concepts of music through age-appropriate activities such as singing old and new songs, rocking, bouncing, movement, echoing, developing a sense of beat, body awareness, musical games, rhythmic verses, and exploring simple instruments.

  • Families will receive an instrument kit and songbook to keep the music flowing at home.

  • No musical experience necessary! The only requirement is to come as you are, and bring with you a desire to connect with your child while having fun.

Baby & Toddler Class (Newborn - 2 year olds)

April 18th - June 1st

7-week semester, 45-min classes

Class times: Thursday 9:15am, WAITLIST for Saturday 11:15am

$175 per semester per child, includes instrument kit and music booklet.

The baby and toddler class is specially designed to offer sensory stimulation during the most receptive period of brain development while encouraging the precious bond that is made between caregiver and child through creating music together. We will explore new patterns of sounds and movement as they begin to track, coordinate and eventually repeat.

While laying the foundation for future musical proficiency, the baby and toddler class curriculum weaves music and movement together to create a nurturing, encouraging and stimulating class.

Kids Class (3 - 5 year olds)

April 18th - June 1st

7-week semester, 45-min classes

Class times: Friday 10:15am and WAITLIST for Saturday 10:00am

$175 per semester per child, includes instrument kit and music booklet.

The kids curriculum weaves music and movement together to give kids the chance to practice listening skills, following directions, communicating and socializing while laying the foundation for future musical proficiency.

Through the joyful act of making music, kids will practice balance, spatial awareness, auditory acuity, and taking turns while building their confidence and self esteem. Discovering simple instruments provides further sound exploration and development of fine motor skills.

Why music for kids?

  • Time and time again, research shows that the earlier a child is placed in an environment where people are making music together, and where they are encouraged to participate, the more easily their own innate musicality will develop.

  • Music fosters a unique, loving bond between caregivers and their children.

  • Children’s brain development is at their most receptive in their first 3 years of life. Music offers them unique stimulation to encourage and activate growth, coordination, and curiosity.

  • Our research-based curriculum nurtures creativity and confidence, encourages language and literacy skills, supports social-emotional and cognitive development, and builds the foundation for music skills.

Meet the team

Christina Pawlowski-Lehn - Founder and Lead Music Educator

In 2014 Christina walked into Cadenza Music to check out some ukuleles. Within a few moments, she was singing with Cadenza owner, Dan Lehn, accompanying her on ukulele. Staff and customers circled around this impromptu musical sharing and began to sing and snap along. Three years later, Dan and Christina were married.

Christina has been dreaming up ideas for a young children’s music program since the birth of her son, Theo, in 2019. The pandemic put a stop to these plans, but the dreaming continued. With great joy, the program was finally launched in Fall of 2023.

Christina was raised in a musically rich home, where she learned to play the recorder and flute at a young age. Today, Christina sings professionally and actively performs throughout the twin cities area. She is a collector of songs - old folk and traditional songs, new contemporary songs, composers she finds along the way, and simple original songs. Christina and Dan have loved sharing and creating music with Theo ever since he was a newborn, especially those silly impromptu improvisational tunes that make the whole family laugh.

In addition to her musical background, Christina is a certified yoga teacher, and has brought yoga and mindfulness teachings to both adults and children for many years through public classes, youth programs, workshops and retreats.

Christina has based her family music classes on the Musikgarten curriculum - an early childhood music education program - along with weaving in her many years collecting songs and studying music, movement, and mindfulness.

“We are delighted to have you here, and are thrilled that you believe in the value of bringing music into your child’s life. The ripple effect is endless. Together, let's create some joyful connection through the power of music.” - Christina Pawlowski, founder and teacher of cadenza kids

Adrien Logsdon - Managing Director

Adrien grew up in a musical home where she sang with her piano-playing father. She went on to become a drama nerd in high school which led to earning her degree in musical theatre from the Guildford School of Acting Conservatoire in Surrey, England. After many years working as a performer, she founded Tiny Music LLC, where she taught music classes to babies and toddlers in her hometown of Fairfield, IA. She is now a vocal coach and mother living in St Paul, MN.
