Brooke Vandervoort, store manager
Brooke enjoys learning and practicing piano, banjo, and vocal repertoire. Originally from Houston, Texas, Brooke At the University of St. Thomas, she studied Music Business with a focus on voice under Dr. Debra Capener and graduated a year early, Magna Cum Laude. Since starting at Cadenza in 2022, she has yet to meet a musician that hasn’t sparked her joy for creation. Although the winters are harsh to a Texan like herself, the music scene in the Twin Cities keeps her warm!
Scott Mims, repair shop manager
Scott is a woodwind and brasswind specialist. A St. Paul native and Central High School graduate, played sax in the University of Minnesota marching band before switching to Southeast Technical College (Red Wing). At Red Wing Scott studied woodwind & brass repair with Greg Beckwith and Ken Cance before joining the Cadenza repair shop in May 2004. After working with and studying under Jean Carey for many years Scott has taken over the responsibilities of Shop Manager. He plans to keep up the high standards that have always made Cadenza a trusted repair shop.
Adrien Logsdon, marketing and lesson coordinator
Adrien Logsdon is Cadenza's Marketing Director. She also handles copywriting, grant writing, Cadenza Kids operations, and various other tasks as needed. Before joining the Cadenza team, Adrien was in charge of marketing and copywriting for the David Lynch Foundation and McMiller Games. She has a background in musical theatre and pop vocals and has been a vocal coach for over twenty years. You can learn more about her teaching over on our lessons page.
Lucy Michell, design and repair coordinator
Lucy Michell is the in-store Graphic Designer/Window Painter and Repair Shop Coordinator. A St.Paul Native and lifelong devotee and performer of music, Lucy grew up only a few blocks down from Cadenza. She graduated from the University of MN with a degree in Graphic Design in 2010 and then toured the country with her bands Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles and Little Fevers. As a local St.Paulian and musician, Lucy is uniquely qualified to coordinate the repairs, due to her school band experience in both St.Paul and Minneapolis as well as through summer Jazz Band Programs.
