On the second Sunday of each month, Minnesota Guitar Society members and friends of all ages are invited to bring their guitars to Acoustic OpenStage.

Acoustic OpenStage is your chance to perform for peers in the relaxed, informal setting.

• There’s a simple sign-up sheet for performers. Each performer gets 8 to 10 minutes (two to four songs). Please don’t extend your performance time beyond these parameters.

• Once everyone has played who wants to, we'll do a second round if there is time.

• Folks usually hang out after playing to swap tips, share music, and just socialize with other guitarists.

Background

Begun in 2002 at the initiative of an MGS member, the late Dennis Burns, Acoustic OpenStage provides a fun, supportive, and informal way for guitarists of every level to experience the joy of playing in public. We focus primarily on acoustic finger-style, and classical guitar, and maintain a format similar to many other open mic events.
